Our current ADSL MAX accounts are all
8 Mb/s which is the maximum available to most exchange areas.
Check the ADSL Price Lists to choose the most suitable account for you, and ADSL Hardware for prices on Routers and other hardware.
Most areas are now within range of an enabled exchange and so up to 8Mb ADSL should be available, however it is possible that some lines are not suitable, so an availability check must be done. Also, the accounts can only be installed on standard BT lines.
If you have an existing ADSL connection with an ISP (such as BT, AOL, Wanadoo) you can easily migrate the account to our price structure and keep using your existing hardware. Please note these accounts can only be installed on standard BT lines.
We offer both Business and Home user tariffs and a choice of two bandwidth allowances.
Broadband MAX Home and Broadband MAX Business offer 330 GB per month of data transfer, which is ideal for heavy downloaders, and it is unlikely the limit would ever be reached (almost constant downloads at max speed for the whole month would be required)
Broadband MAX Small Business offers a 20:1 contention ratio connection for less than the full business connection rate, but with correspondingly lower data transfer per month limits.
Broadband MAX Home PAYG and Broadband MAX Business PAYG are more suitable for those who only wish to browse the internet and send email and are unlikely to download huge amounts of files. The 1GB allowance is ample for this kind of usage, but If downloading is increased above the 1GB limit, you pay only for the extra bandwidth used.
To apply for an account, or migrate from your existing ADSL, choose ADSL Signup. Refer to the End User signup guide for step-by-step assistance.
We also offer free GMLNET 56Kb/ISDN dialup accounts for use with standard analogue modems. Check Dialup Main.

Note: DSL connections are expressed in Mb (Mega bits) per second of maximum data transfer. Our current speeds are up to 8Mb/s - this compares to the 0.056 Mb/s you would get from a standard dial-up modem.
The data transfer per month figures are expressed in GB (Giga Bytes).
Contention ratios are a measure of the shared bandwidth of the connection. At peak times with a lot of people all downloading at their maximum rates, lower contention ratios offer a larger share of the available bandwidth. (50:1 or higher is the standard ratio).
